Pakloop + Shelterluv
Keep Shelterluv. Nobody starts over.
Pakloop isn't a replacement for Shelterluv. Shelterluv keeps your animal records, applications and adoptions. Pakloop reads your animals from it and runs the team and money side: who can take the next dog, who's driving Saturday, and how the vet bill gets covered.
No card, no contract. We set it up with your team.
"Can we pull in our historical data?"
It's the first thing rescues ask. There are two ways, and you can use both.
1. Upload a Shelterluv export
Best for your history. Export your animals from Shelterluv as CSV or Excel and upload it. Pakloop matches the columns for you, shows anything it can't read so you can fix it, and brings in past animals too.
- Name and Shelterluv ID
- Species and breed
- Age or date of birth
- Sex, weight and color
- Status and intake date
- Spay/neuter
- Vaccine dates
- Microchip
- Description (becomes the draft bio)
2. Connect with a Shelterluv API key
Best for staying current. Paste a key from Shelterluv and Pakloop checks every hour for the animals in your care, adds new ones and marks adoptions. It only reads. It never writes back.
- Name, species and breed
- Sex and age
- Status, and whether they're in foster
- Intake date
- Cover photo
- Current location
Dogs and cats come over today. Other species stay in Shelterluv for now.
We do the move for you
We bring in your animals from Shelterluv, rebuild the forms you already use in Pakloop, and walk your team through it. Setup takes about a week.
What stays in Shelterluv
- Your official animal and medical records
- Adoption applications and contracts
- Adopter, foster and donor records
What Pakloop adds
The day-to-day running of the rescue that usually lives in group chats and spreadsheets: a "Can we say yes?" check before you take in an animal, a Pack Board where needs get claimed by someone nearby, and vet bills tied to a fundraiser so you can see raised vs. owed.

Questions rescues on Shelterluv ask
- If we're on Shelterluv, can we pull in our historical data?
- Yes. Upload a Shelterluv animal export (CSV or Excel) and Pakloop brings in every dog and cat in the file, including past animals, matched by Shelterluv ID. Run it again later and it updates the animals that are already there instead of adding them twice.
- Does Pakloop change anything in Shelterluv?
- No. Pakloop only reads from Shelterluv. It never edits, adds or deletes a Shelterluv record.
- Does Pakloop pull our adopters, fosters or donors out of Shelterluv?
- No. Pakloop only reads animal records. Your team and fosters join Pakloop from an invite link, so no person records leave Shelterluv.
- Will the sync overwrite what our fosters add in Pakloop?
- No. Bios, foster placements, notes and costs your team adds in Pakloop are never replaced by the sync. Photos only fill in an animal that doesn't have one yet.
- What does it cost?
- The founding rescue pilot is free. No card, no contract. You keep paying for Shelterluv as you do today.

Pakloop also imports your animals from a spreadsheet, so you don't retype them. See everything Pakloop connects to.
